Wear Valley Crematorium

Located in Coundon, Bishop Auckland, Wear Valley Crematorium is a contemporary, state of the art building which opened in 2009. The grounds stretch over eight acres which have been carefully tended and well maintained by the current owners Dignity Plc. The crematorium can be found just outside of Coundon Village, approximately six miles from Junction 60 on the A1 and it has been serving local communities in the Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe and County Durham areas since it opened. The friendly team at Wear Valley Crematorium are there to make what is a difficult and upsetting time as stress free as possible. Dignity and respect are core values that are promoted at the crematorium. The chapel is suitable for larger funerals or multi faith services, reflecting both cultural and religious requirements. The outdoor areas provide a number of memorial options following the cremation service including private gardens and rose beds.
