Mountsett Crematorium

Located on the outskirts of Dipton, Mountsett Crematorium is located in a beautiful setting and it opened in August 1966 and is owned by a Joint Committee on behalf of Durham County Council and Gateshead Council. The chapel provides a calm and peaceful environment for quiet contemplation and to remember loved ones. There is seating for 120 people and standing room for a further 100 people. Service times run throughout the day every 45 minutes. The chapel has a Wesley music and media system as well as visual tributes can be displayed on screen during the service. In addition to providing a state of the art music and visual system, the service can also be streamed online for those who cannot attend in person or recorded on CD or DVD. An organ is also available to accommodate a range of hymn requests and there is an induction loop system for those with hearing impairments.
