Distington Hall Crematorium

Distington Hall Crematorium is located in the North of the Borough, providing cremation services for almost the entire area of Copeland and south of Allerdale. Close to the main crematorium building is the Chapel of Remembrance which is open every day between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm. The times are slightly different during the winter months of November and February, opening at 9am and closing at 4:15pm. In the crematorium bereaved families are able to leave a lasting memorial for loved ones, having their information inscribed into a Book of Remembrance. Vases are provided for any floral tributes. The Book of Remembrance is opened every day so you can view inscriptions entered for that particular date. However, the Book of Remembrance cannot be viewed on a weekend or on Bank Holidays, but there is an electronic version which can be viewed out of hours.
