The Chanterlands Crematorium has been providing cremation services to the local community for a number of years. The crematorium is approached by a long, tree lined drive featuring beautiful rose trees. During the winter months, a portico offers adequate shelter for those waiting outside, or there is an indoor waiting area which is available. Services can be tailored to suit and feature music, readings and more. Music can be provided and requests for tapes, CDs, songs or favourite hymns are welcome at the Chapel. The garden of remembrance surrounds the crematorium and it extends to 20 acres. It is a beautifully landscaped and well established area with carefully planted trees, bulbs and shrubs providing attractive focal points. Seats are placed throughout the grounds, providing the bereaved a chance to spend some time in quiet contemplation in peaceful surroundings. A hand crafted Book of Remembrance features details of individual anniversaries and this is available to view in a dedicated pavilion located within the gardens.
