Mark Wait Funeral Service is owned and run by Mark Wait and my daughter Kelsey. We are both very proud to have been serving local families in the North East and helping them with their funeral needs for over 41 years. Mark Wait Funeral Service is truly independent and local - we are not part of any national company, not incorporated and we do not have various business names. When you talk to us you can be certain of who we are and who you are entrusting with arranging the care of your loved one. I am fully qualified in what I do, holding both the Diploma in Funeral Directing and also accreditation from the British Institute of Embalmers. Kelsey is also qualified holding a Certificate in Funeral Practice. Prior to establishing my own business, I gained extensive knowledge of providing professional funeral services from working in both a national company and in a small local firm. These experiences made me determined to provide a more personal and bespoke service to my customers. By opening my own funeral home, I knew we would be able to provide the North East with an enviably high standard of service and care. Our clients trust me to give good advice and support. In October 2017 my daughter Kelsey joined me who has 10 years experience in funeral service, together with 49 years combined experience we both provide our families with a caring, honest and trustworthy service. We provide a personal and respectful service 24 hours a day. Together we use our expertise to guide bereaved families through all aspects of the funeral from the legal paperwork through to deciding on the location, type of service or ceremony. We understand that most people don't know where to start with arranging a funeral, and so we offer our wealth experience in helping you to accomplish this difficult task. From the moment we talk, our priority will be to provide you with your own choice of funeral – you can trust us to listen to your wishes and requirements and to always do our best to help you to incorporate them into your arrangements.
