York City Crematorium

Managed by York City Council, York City Crematorium aims to deliver exceptional standards of care and support at what is often a difficult and upsetting time. Regardless of your belief, culture or traditions, the crematorium will be able to help you host a suitable cremation service. There are two chapels at the crematorium, the White Rose Chapel and the Ebor Chapel. The White Rose Chapel is the largest of the two and has seating for 100 mourners and further room for 100 people standing. The Ebor Chapel is the smallest and can accommodate 25 mourners with no standing room. In the White Rose Chapel an electric organ and visual display are available. Each funeral service can be specifically tailored to reflect the wishes of the family to create a meaningful ceremony. Service times are scheduled at 40 minute intervals with 25 minutes allocated to the actual service. As a non-denominational chapel, religious or civil services can be held at the crematorium depending on your specific requirements.
