Wakefield Crematorium

Wakefield Crematorium is on Standbridge Lane and is just one of two crematoriums in Wakefield, the other being Pontefract. The two crematoriums carry out more than 3,000 cremations every year. The crematorium in Wakefield has its own chapel which seats 72 people. For visitors who cannot attend the service, perhaps because they are out of the country, live web streaming of the ceremony is available. The live broadcast can be viewed by friends and family through a secure online connection. In addition a DVD recording of the ceremony can be provided on request. A Wesley music system is made available to play music for the service and it has a vast collection of organ recordings, hymns and everyday music. The catalogue can be viewed online. Following on from the cremation service, a range of memorials can be arranged at the crematorium. Opening times: Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm | Friday 9am to 4:30pm | Weekends 9am to 5pm (April to October) or 9am to pm (November to March).
