The Bishop of Thetford opened Earlham Crematorium in 1964. Although close to Norwich, the crematorium is far enough away to offer visitors peace and tranquillity away from the bustle of a busy city centre. The traditional chapel features the original timber roof from when the building was constructed and it provides all of the facilities that you would expect for visitors during a cremation service. Outside of the chapel and crematorium building are several gardens of remembrance which have been expertly designed to replicate open countryside. Once the cremation service is over, many people like to create a memorial for loved ones and the crematorium staff are available to help you choose something suitable. Personalised memorials include rose bushes or a private garden depending on your requirements. Earlham Crematorium is open throughout the year and the gardens are open every day.
