Currently managed by Fife Council, Dunfermline Crematorium opened in 1973 and it is located within a beautiful woodland setting. The building is of a modern design and it has a large chapel that overlooks the woodland. The gardens of remembrance feature four distinct areas of lawn which have been allocated a season. Each of these lawn areas are used for the scattering of cremated remains. There is also a commemorative wall featuring granite plaques which is situated within the gardens. Within the main crematorium building, a Book of Remembrance is available for viewing and there are four books, each of which is dedicated to a particular season to correspond with the four gardens. The extensive grounds and quiet setting make the gardens of remembrance an ideal place for quiet reflection where you can spend time remembering the life of a loved one.
