Douglas Crematorium

Experiencing a bereavement can be a difficult time and everyone deals with it in their own way, but the staff at Douglas Crematorium can help make things a little easier for you guiding you through and offering support to help you plan the cremation service. The crematorium has been serving the local community for more than 112 years. Any type of service can be arranged at the crematorium, whether this is a Catholic, Baptist or Humanist service. In 2016 the crematorium underwent an extensive period of improvement work. The chapel has seating for 100 mourners at the Borough Cemetery and between 70 and 80 people at the Lawn Cemetery. Services can include music provided on a CD or singers can be arranged on consultation with the staff at the crematorium. Cremations take place on certain days in the week; Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and are allocated particular slots throughout the day. Timings are currently 10am 10:45am, 11:30am, 1:15pm or 2pm.
