Welham Jones Funeral Directors is an independently run and family owned business. Operating out of our funeral home in Chislehurst, we aim to provide families with the very best professional support, taking great privilege in our position as your funeral director of choice. Owned and managed by Sandra and Simon Welham for almost 25 years, Welham Jones has recently enjoyed the addition of their daughter, Rebecca, who operates as both Funeral Director and Business Development Manager, thereby safeguarding the family name. With Rebecca’s daughter joining the business most recently, the Welham Jones legacy is set to continue, ensuring that high quality and compassionate care remain the hallmark of our professional service. Having spent her earliest years living above one London branch of Nodes – managed by her father, Mac Jones - Sandra Welham has always been surrounded by the activity of the funeral industry. Mac, one of England’s earliest qualified embalmers, would later be known by many Sennockians as the funeral manager of the now historical Young’s Department Store. Mac went on to become a General Manager for Great Southern Group – the UK’s largest privately held funeral concern, until its acquisition by SCI in 1989. It was after this date that Mac began working for Welham Jones in a consultancy capacity, until his death in 2013. The excellent customer service, kindness and empathy offered to families at Welham Jones owes much of its approach to the early mentoring received by Mac, whose hard-won experience, guidance and values live on through the successive generations of the family. Simon Welham, a banker by profession, had nurtured and developed the business to a point where it required his full-time attention and consequently he joined on a full-time basis in 2003 after a career of some 30 years in the City. Managed by the family members who own it, Welham Jones prides itself on being guided by familial values, providing proper care to those we look after. Through the combination of modern technology and traditional methods, customers can expect a dignified service, informed by the highest professional standards of care and support.
