W H Preene and Son is a family run, independent funeral director with branches in both Barry and Pontyclun. Established in 1936, we pride ourselves on being the oldest independent funeral director in the area. Originally beginning as a wheelwright business, that also organised funerals, the owners quickly realised that undertaking was a greater passion and soon took over to be the fulltime priority of the business. Just like our hardworking ancestors, we work tirelessly to offer local families exceptional customer support and guidance. From our 80+ years experience, we have developed strong local ties and have helped literally hundreds of families arrange personalised, meaningful funerals. As well as the immediate areas of Barry and Pontyclun, we also service the surrounding areas of Llantrisant and beyond. Our beautiful onsite chapel is available for families to use for viewing. We are also able to cater to a wide variety of faiths and belief systems. We can also assist our families with services such as newspaper notices, catering options, providing orders of service sheets as well as other funeral and wake services.
