R. Gwinnell & Sons is an independent and family owned funeral directors offering funeral director services to bereaved families in the Essex and East Anglia regions. We have eight branches in this area, in Manningtree, Thorpe-le-Soken, Ipswich, Halstead, Hadleigh, Dovercourt, Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester. Our office in Clacton can be found on Holland Road where we also serve surrounding villages including Alresford, Little Clacton, St Osyth and Thorrington. R. Gwinnell & Sons truly is a family company. The first branch in Manningtree was established in 1986 by Roy and Christine Gwinnell with the aim of providing a caring and supportive service to local families at their time of need. Roy and Christine's eldest son Matt then joined the business in 2002 to lend support to his parents, having grown up seeing the work they did from close quarters. He has since said it was always a case of when, and not if, he would join the family business. The approach of all of us here at R. Gwinnell & Sons is to offer you all of our combined experience in funeral arrangement along with a genuinely compassionate level of care to you at this difficult time.
