The best way to get in touch
We are a brand new cemetery set within 26 acres on the Adlington Hall Estate. During the Norman Conquest, William the Conqueror threw Earl Edwin off the land, and took the land into Norman hands. The Norman Earls held Adlington for seven generations, until it passed to the crown in 1221. It’s now been in Legh family now for over 700 years. Our site was once a medieval deer park and is now protected by English Heritage. We officially opened towards the end of September 16 and have already had many ceremonies. With no out of area charge and options for scattering, double/family burial plots and cremated remains plots for up to 4, it's already proving very popular as burial and ash interment space is very limited in our area. Although we are classed as a natural burial ground, we are no different to any cemetery apart from the fact that we’re privately owned, memorial stones are laid flat, plot sizes are bigger and everything brought onto the site must be biodegradable [normal wooden coffins are ok as long as they don’t contain any metal]. Due to the vast size of the park [we are one of the biggest in the UK] we are releasing the sale of plots in phases. Sections 6 and 9 are currently available although many of these have now been reserved. NEW FOR 2017 - A memorial plaque can be purchased on one of our benches. T Trees can be purchased with any of the plots we have available or with a scattering. If you don’t require a plot/scattering rights then our tree for life schemes provides the opportunity to plant a memorial tree. The following species are available:- Silver Birch Common Hawthorne Hazel Holly Mountain Ash Wild Cherry Wild Plum Common Ash English Oak Viburnum Opulus Common Beech Crab Apple We offer a full range of funeral plans and work with local funeral directors to ensure that you given the highest quality of service. Our free funeral wish consultation is recommended. Please let us know if you would like a private viewing of the park or if you would like any literature sending by post.
