William Kenneth Wallker

14th Oct 1948 - 16th Oct 2020
72 years
This site is a tribute to William Kenneth Walker, who sadly passed away peacefully at the age of 72. He will always be remembered for his kindness, words of wisdom, wicked sense of humour, and encouragement. Ken Walker (as he was most known as) was born in Church Village, Pontypridd and grew up in Cefn Hengoed with his cousins who were like his brothers through life. He attended Gradffa Secondary School, shortly working in Corona pop factory, before training to become a Coal Minor with Britannia Colliery, later working in Taff Merthyr Colliery. At the age of 21, he lovingly married Kathleen and they lived together in Penpedairheol (Cascade) for over 45 years; raised 4 children; and barely spent a day apart from each other. They grew up in an era of love thy neighbour, where they were well known and much loved within their local community by many. Ken was an iconic character well known throughout Caerphilly. He was a man of wonder and treasures, who loved day trips and walking for miles (which his greyhounds used to love). Please use this tribute page to share your thoughts and memories to paint the colourful picture of the life he lived.
