We had some good natured banter over our football teams but one thing i will remember, he was always fair. Part of the Bath Hotel family, a big loss.

So sad to have passed so young. A larger than life chap, his voice was so loud that you often heard him before seeing him. He had such wit and humour. We often ribbed each other about Preston and Leeds depending on their position in the football league! Will be sadly missed and I send my sincere condolences to all his family. RIP Tony. Love from Linda x

RIP Tony. Taken far too early. I remember when you babysat for my son, when he was only two, I don’t think he knew what had hit him with you booming laugh. My heartfelt condolences to all the family. We are all thinking of you all at this very sad and difficult time. Love Eileen, Peter, Matthew & Olive xx

Harty could rep you to shreds with his sharp and hilarious humour, but behind the clowns mask was a kind ,sensitive soul, rest in peace mate.

The world will be that much duller without Harty around. So many memories, almost all involving some kind of joy and laughter. You can repeat the stories, but they don’t seem quite as funny without the master storytellers special sprinkling of magic. The Great North Run springs to mind, where despite finishing hours behind everyone else, he was infuriated to have been beaten on the line by a tranny and someone dressed as a turnip! Going to miss you buddy, as will an awful lot of others.

Well where to we start with HARTY ? Legend is an over used word but not where this Man is concerned - Always at the Front with his tales, laughs & antics , but not so much 1 st to the Bar !!!! So sad you will no longer be with us on our Trips away but you will most definitely be in our thoughts - The stories you told were epic and no matter how many times we had heard them they were always better the last time !! I am sure you will be watching Your Beloved Mighty Whites this season and smiling down on us ...but we will be missing our No 1 ..Rock "Hard" Harty as you sang about yourself !!! Good Night My Friend x MOT Skell

Uncle Tony... I will always remember the best times. The joy you brought to our childhood. The holidays, Christmas’, birthdays, always there for me, Melissa and Abbey. I will always treasure the good times we have had together as a family. We once sat in a restaurant in Portugal and there unfortunately was a power cut turning the whole restaurant into complete darkness... as always, Uncle Tony making us all laugh, started singing ‘Happy Birthday’ at the top of his voice... soon the whole restaurant is singing together looking round for a cake and candles!!... to soon realise there was no cake or candles!!! The pink underpants holiday was also one I will remember forever. The pool competitions, the shows we used to put on in the evenings, the Disney trips, the Leeds chants, the laugh that always made people turn round and stare, the laugh that brought so much happiness and joy to so many people. My uncle Tony that would make us all laugh so much it would hurt... the life of any party. Uncle Tony who I will miss so much & treasure our memories forever, Xxx

I served with Harty on Hms Torbay. we only reconnected this year through the Torbay facebook page and I was looking forward to the reunions to get to say hello again. My time on boats will never be forgotten and the memories I have of the fun we had will stay with me forever. I will be there lining the streets to bid you bon voyage my old shipmate. It is the least i can do for a great guy. rest easy and my condolences to the whole family.
