It is with great sadness that we announce Richard has passed away. He died on 12th December 2020 after a short, unexpected illness, leaving behind his beloved wife, Rosemary, daughter Isobel, and son Lawrence. He also leaves behind his parents - Susan Stanley and Richard E. Rice, sister Emily Shirley, parents-in-law Phyllis and Bill Leaney, Aunt and Uncle Catherine and John Van Nostrand, and cousins, nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held in Barham, Kent (England) on 31st December, followed by a memorial gathering in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) in the spring. - About Richard: Richard was born in St John, NB on Aug. 15, 1966. He attended schools in London, England, France, Toronto and Montreal. He graduated in Arts from Queen’s University. He was uniquely creative, drawing cartoons, publishing projects and restoring old houses. - How you can help: To help Rosemary in particular, but also Isobel, and Lawrence in the immediate days and months ahead, we are raising funds. After the devastating and unexpected loss of Richard, any contribution will make their lives a little bit easier as they come to adjust. If you would prefer to donate to charity in Richard's memory, we are recommending the Humane League (which seeks to end the abuse of animals raised for food) - please see the link on the right-hand side. [Donations for the family are being collected on behalf of family by Sam Shirley - Richard's nephew]
