When Richard Paul Spicer was born on 7 March 1945 in Woking, Surrey, his father, Albert, was 27 and his mother, Lilian, was 22. He married Heather Causer on 25 June 1966 in Salisbury, Wiltshire. They had three children during their marriage. He died on 11 March 2023 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, at the age of 78.
