is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing of Lt. Gen (Rtd) John K Koech formerly the Vice Chief of General Staff of the Kenya Armed Forces. Son of the late Mzee Arap Bii and the late Mama Mary Cherono Bii. Son in law to late Stanley & late Grace Kesusu. Beloved husband of Mrs Hilda Koech. Loving father to Robert, Sheila, Angela, Chebet and Eric. Father in Law to Sheilla and Angela. Grandfather to Matthew, Talisha, Chelangat, Nemali, Georgina, Eli and Ezekiel. Brother to Anna, Juliana, late David, late Paul, late Thomas, Peter, Andrew and Joseph. Brother in law to late Hezekiah, Julius, Weldon, Benjamin, Caliph, Eunice Cherotich, Lucy Chelangat and Jane Chesang. In law to Jane Muthuma and David & Mary Siele. Prayers are taking place daily at the family home in Karen from 3pm – 5pm. There shall be a Requiem Mass on Friday 4th December 2020 at St. Austin Church, Lavington at noon. The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home for his home in Saoset Village, Kapkugerwet Ward Kericho County on Monday 8th December 2020 at 8.00am. The Funeral Service will be held at the Kericho Day School, Kericho on Tuesday 8th December 2020 starting at 9.00am.Thereafter the body will proceed to his home for private family interment. Due to the prevailing COVID 19 pandemic, strict adherence to the government protocols shall be observed in all the ceremonies leading upto the final rites.
