Lucy May, passed away peacefully on 6th March 2022, surrounded by her close family. Beloved daughter to Derek & Julia, and loving sister of Giles & Amy, and to all of her extended family. Beloved too to all those whom she met. On everyone an indelible mark would have been made. For Lucy was a force - a unique and strong character who exuded self-belief. Lucy knew her own mind! We can all hear her laugh right now - with this solace, we know she will never leave us. Lucy was incredibly brave. She faced illness for many years of her life that no-one should endure. Throughout all of this, she would never show self-pity. She would rather know how you are - she cared deeply about others. She was always so generous with her time, and incredibly thoughtful when someone needed help, or just moral support. She would be planning her next adventure at her earliest opportunity, organising, cracking the whip! Her next visit to family or friends, or to the restaurants, concerts, and stables that she loved to enjoy. Music and conversation filled her life. And with this music and conversation, we would love it if you could join us in celebrating Lucy’s life. She would have loved everyone to be together. To share memories and laugh about the times we spent with her. To plan the next adventures of our own, with her strength and courage as our inspiration. The service for Lucy will be held at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Monday 4th April 2022 at 2pm. We will then follow with an informal buffet reception from 3pm at The Villa, Levens. Addresses to get to both venues are provided on this page, as well as an “Attend” action which will help us know how many people will attend the service and to cater for at the reception. Her close family will be providing flowers but if you do wish to donate to a charity that would have been close to her heart, please click the link to Diabetes UK on this page, or at the service itself. For those of you that are unable to attend you will have the opportunity to watch the service live (as well as at another time) on this link: https://watch.obitus.com/FXpqaR Username xepo4379 Password 206603 For those of you that are able to attend we look forward to seeing you there. "In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night… And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content to have known me. You will always be my friend. You will want to laugh with me. And you will sometimes open your window, so, for that pleasure… And your friends will be properly astonished to see you laughing as you look up at the sky!" - The Little Prince, Saint-Exupéry Scroll left to see more photos
