Leslie Thomas Wardale

19th Jul 1930 - 7th Jul 2021
90 years
Les was born in Liverpool on the 19th July 1930. He was evacuated to Cheshire as a boy during WW2. He was became an electrical engineer, and used to repair TV and Audio equipment. He had a "colourful" career! He later married my Mother in 1977, and I was born (his only child) in 1978. As a child I remember my Dad always being in his garage "fiddling with electrical stuff" or working on one of his many cars, usually a Citroen! We moved as a family "Down South" to Sussex in 1984. He suffered terrible life-changing injuries from a serious motorcycle accident in 1986, which resulted in him being registered disabled, but once he was able to, he returned to working (albeit from home) for B&W Speakers. We moved to Somerset in 1992 where we lived until Les and my Mum returned to Sussex in 1996. Many years later, Dad remarried and emigrated to the Philippines, where he lived for around 15 years. Sadly his health declined during this time; he suffered several strokes and became dependent on his loving wife Susy. She took great care of him until he passed yesterday. He is survived by myself, Zoe, his Wife Susy and Step-Son Don. Les was a character, who admittedly wasn't everyone's cup of tea! But he was my Dad, and I will miss him.
