Leslie Alfonso Rose Sunrise: 10th May 1941 Sunset: 3rd April 2020 Leslie Alfonso Rose was born on Saturday 10th May, 1941. He was the second born son of Percival Beresford Rose and Iona Jestina Wellington. He and his brother Louis were born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Leslie was baptised at the age of 13, an early declaration of his love for God and pursuit of higher spiritual learning. Iona moved to England when her children were in their teens, Louis staying in Jamaica and Leslie eventually moving to London, England to join her. Leslie’s youth in London was spent pursuing his love of music and the arts, attending Camberwell School of Arts and donning his much cherished moniker as a DJ “Count Rose - Prince of the South East!” He went on to attend Printing School in Elephant & Castle and soon after met the love of his life Florence - also known as “Gwen”. Gwen was at nursing school when they first met, and he affectionately referred to her as his “Florence Nightingale”. Gwen and Leslie married in Camberwell, South-East London on October 3rd, 1970. Having completed his printing training he went on to work as a printer for the remainder of his career. Gwen and Leslie became parents to their beloved son; Anthony, in 1973 and in 1977, to their only daughter, Katrina. Leslie joined the Aetherius Society on 5th July 1980, and remained a faithful and committed member for 40 years until his passing. Leslie’s focus was on the betterment of society, spiritual consciousness, education, and the karmic task of learning how to be compassionate towards others. Pre-eminent remained the care of the Mother Earth and the higher teachings of the Master Jesus. Leslie was much loved by all whose lives he touched, his character notable by his calm, patient manner, his ever present wisdom and his wonderfully dry humour! He is survived by his wife, Gwen, children Anthony & Katrina, grandchildren Joel, Xion and Xavier, cousins Patricia and Leslie Rose and countless other friends and family. May he rest in eternal peace.

To a man who showed devotion to his daughter, whilst I haven't really known you personally, I have known you through your actions towards her and her words about you. I know that you'll be greatly missed but I know you have also made an indelible impression in her heart and life that has spilled over in her own parenting and friendship. May you be rewarded with love for the love you have poured out. FAO

It was a real pleasure to know 'Father Leslie'. Although he seemed to be a man of few words-each word carried much depth. It was clear that he was a deep thinker. I always left his presence much wiser. May all these and other positive qualities that he possessed, live on in his family members. May God continue to give comfort and strength to all. My dear friend Les, You chose well, You stood fast and You know God. I know you are somewhere on the higher levels continuing with your efforts to know God. I have fond memories of our pilgrimages to the Holy Mountains in this country, and the numerous church activities we attended together at the glorious Aetherius Society in Fulham. Journey on gentle soul.

We had known Les for over 40 years. He was always fun..always joking..and such a joy to be in his company....he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Our heart goes out to his family...May the Lord bless them all at this sad time, and give them courage. It's a shame that all that knew him cannot be there in person to pay their respects.
