James Arthur David Allen

28th Oct 1964 - 14th Dec 2024
60 years
James Arthur David Allen (David) of Watchung, New Jersey, passed away on December 14, 2024 after a two year battle with cancer. David was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 28, 1964, to Wesley and Joan Allen (nee Patterson). He is survived by his wife Linda, his children, Chloe and her husband Benjamin, Jacob, Mitchell, and Elspeth, his grandson, Jeremiah, his brother, Jonathan and wife Kerry Ann, and their children, Ozzie and Pyper, and his father Wesley. He will be deeply missed by many other loving family members, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were like family. David received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ulster University, Belfast, and then graduated from Strathclyde University, Glasgow in 1986 with a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, where he met his future wife, Linda. They spent their married life in London before moving to Watchung, New Jersey, in 1997, raising their four children. David spent the bulk of his career developing technology solutions within financial services in New York City and was an active member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, New Jersey serving as a deacon. He enjoyed attending his children’s sporting events, golfing, and travelling, having worked and vacationed in Europe, South America, and Asia. David was known for his sense of humor, adventurous spirit, kindness, and deep Christian faith. He returned to Belfast frequently, forever considering Northern Ireland his home. A memorial service will be held at Castlereagh Community Church on Saturday March 22, 2025, at 11am, followed by the Committal at Roselawn Cemetery 129-131 Ballygowan Road Crossnacreevy Belfast, then a reception at La Mon Hotel and Country Club, all of which are open to those who wish to attend. The family will be honoured to see you.
