An outstanding member of the Sikh Community, St. Pauls Commitee starting the first St.Pauls Festival and Floats through the Historic City of Bristol along with late Carmen Bedford for which they remained good friends for the next 40 years. As a member of the Indian Performing Arts Commitee of Bristol performances by Classical Performing Artists in prestigious buildings in the Uk. Members of the Arts included the late Lata Mangeshkar. From Nairobi which she always colled home but was refused to visit by family members due to ongoing and growing Political Termoil was a loss to her alas, as was always a big draw to her to go home. Widely known in her community as arriving in the UK in the 60's, studying in Sheffield and Teaching for over 40 years in Bristol City was well respected. She bought communities together whatever the colour of your skin and would voice and change discrimination in the city. The legacy she leaves is a fine one as herself a foreigner made the UK her home and was forthright in making changes at a time when women wouldn;t be heard. She leaves behind 3 children of adult age and two grandchildren. Rest in Peace.
