Douglas Roopnarine

Douglas Roopnarine

10th Dec 1931 - 28th Oct 2020
88 years
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend to countless people. Married to his loving wife Esther for 66 years, father to 6 children, Diana, Douglas, Sherrill, Karen, Derek and Darren, Grandfather of 9 children. He passed away peacefully with love surrounding him, he had a wonderful life and enjoyed every day with love for his family. He was full of life when people visited he lit up and was genuinely pleased to see people, everyone loved him and enjoyed his company. In 1958 he came to UK with nothing and left a legacy, working various jobs until he settled with London Transport until he retired. His love for life, fun and being naughty made him what he was and people loved him for that. Generous and thoughtful he would think of others before himself. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but he will always be in our hearts and thoughts, never forgotten as he will always be in our memories.

Death is not the end, it is a continuation of life. it comes to all of us and though we grieve for our loved ones, we must console ourselves that they have gone to a better place, free from pain and illness. We pray that Douglas will have everlasting peace and be reunited with loved ones who have gone before. - Shirley Moonasar & Family
