David Michael Glisson

31st Oct 1970 - 12th Feb 2023
52 years
David Glisson passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 at the age of 52 surrounded by his loving family members and closest friends. David was born on October 31, 1970, in Grants, New Mexico. He graduated from Kingwood High School in 1989. He was always hustling and bustling about his house, tackling the day’s duties with an unrivaled work ethic. A work ethic and strength of character that is his enduring legacy. He met the love of his life, Ramona Wagner and they married on January 17, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange, TX. Together they had two children Elyse and Ely. He is survived by his grandma Ruby, mom Daisy and father Dale; sister Terri; wife Ramona, daughters Emily, Shyanne, and Elyse, son Ely; grandkids Mabry and Dax along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandfather's Simon and Lee; grandmother Jewell; Step-father Roy. David will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father who “beyond all else loved his family and community”. After graduating from The University of Houston with a History degree in 2013, David worked as a teacher for Cy-fair for 4 years. He later worked as a teacher for La Grange, before resigning from teaching in 2023 David discovered the incredible world of funeral directing. David was an active and dedicated member of the community. David had a special love for classic cars and enjoyed listening to a variety of music and by variety a very eclectic variety of music. A perfect Saturday night would find him in the garage tinkering with the cars or all of the tools. We will never forget the time David played softball at a family reunion. His magical ability to hit a powerline and watch that softball land 10 feet in front of him. We never let him forget how much we laughed at the look on his face, after all the scurrying to get to the ball and throwing it as hard as he could just to watch it fall right in front of him. Oh, good times. We will miss David and his personality, such as his sarcastic humor, love for country, love of life, we know he is celebrating in Heaven. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on March 5th at Koenig-Belville funeral home and crematory. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on March 5th in the chapel of Koenig-Belvill funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, or a charity of one’s choice.
