When Alfred Thomas North was born on 1 August 1928 in London, London, his father, Alfred, was 34 and his mother, Lily, was 26. He married Iris Joan Bourne in October 1952. They had three children during their marriage. He died on 28 December 2007 in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, at the age of 79.
