Harvey Andrew Ho-A-Yun

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr Harvey Andrew Ho-A-Yun who was known as Andy, announces his passing after a brief illness, on 5th October 2021, at the age of 72. Andy passed away in the Critical Care Unit of North Middlesex Hospital and will be lovingly remembered by his female partner of 45 years, Low. He had been a very loving and devoted son to his parents Harvey and Gladys, when they were both alive. He is survived by his younger brother Delbert. He had very many cousins living throughout the world. Andy was born in Georgetown, British Guiana in South America and raised as an Anglican Christian. At the age of 13 he migrated to London with his family. He had lived in the Bayswater area of London and later Acton, before moving to finally live with his common law wife Low in Southgate. Andy attended Central Foundation Boys’ Grammar School and after leaving he studied Computer Science at Staffordshire Polytechnic. Following his graduation around 1969, he worked as a Software Programmer for Colgate-Palmolive in Central London for a few years. After that he worked at STC Standard Telephone Cables (later Nortel), in New Southgate for very many years. After being bitten by the golf bug, in the 80’s and 90’s, he liked to play with his golfing buddies. He contracted gastric cancer in 2001, but with the help of then pioneering treatment just released in the USA, was able to survive until now. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel of New Southgate Crematorium, Brunswick Park Rd, London N11 1JJ at 01:00pm on Thursday 28th October 2021. All are welcome to attend.
