Evelyn Pye

7th Jul 1936 - 10th Jan 2023
86 years
Evelyn Pye, (Baldwin) married to William Bernard Pye, who sadly passed away in 2003. Mother to Stephen, Josephine and the late Philip Martin Pye. Nan to eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She spent most of her adult life living at 1 Devon Close, Pemberton. Evelyn loved nothing more than a good chat and was always a great listener. Sadly, over the years her physical health deteriorated, but if she could be remembered for anything it would be her straight talking and her hilarious verbal faux pas. Evelyn, you are already so missed by so many people, but you made so many happy memories, that will never be forgotten! You used to say, 'you'll miss me when I'm gone!' Never a truer word spoken! Night night, don't let the bed bugs bite, God bless! x

Nan, I never thought the day would ever come when I wouldn't have you in my life! I'm very lucky, not many people get to keep their Nan's until they're 45. You were always there for me when I needed you and you helped me out so many times when I needed someone. I'm so glad that I was able to hold your hand during your last few days and say thanks for all the things you did for me...even if you asked me, 'why do people keep saying thanks?' to you :-) I have so many lovely memories of the times we shared together...when you bought me the white shoes and we became shoe twins, spending time with you during summers and you taking me to Wigan park, sweets on a Thursday. Then as I got older, Wednesday lunch with you and Grandad, spending afternoons with you when Bayley was little. Sometimes we'd talk for hours and sometimes we'd just watch TV and sometimes we'd shout over the TV until you turned it down :-) You just loved a good chat and gave some no nonsense advice over the years. I know now you'll be catching up with so many people that you lost during your life, so I can't be sad about that! But I am really sad that you've gone and I miss you so much!! and I know that you'd love being turned into a piece of jewellery...I can just hear you laughing about that now. Love you always! Night, night...God bless 'Rosie' xxx
