Watson & Bell is a family-owned, independent funeral director in Canterbury. We take a respectful, professional and compassionate approach to funeral arrangement, working closely with our families to arrange funerals that meet their specific needs. Watson & Bell was founded by Terry and Ginny Davis in 1998, and (now semi-retired) they have been joined by their son, Nick, and daughter-in-law Mandy. Over the last 20 years, the team here at Watson & Bell have continued to offer the highest possible standard of care, following a strict code of conduct. We believe that everyone deserves a personal, thoughtful funeral that really reflects the life they’ve lived. We also understand that a bereavement can be completely overwhelming, and so we do everything we can to make the funeral arrangement process as stress-free and easy as possible. Our services include: home meetings to arrange the funeral, support with any paperwork for the Department of Work and Pensions, private visits (should you like to come and see your loved one) and out of hours collection. We’re also happy to organise repatriation to and from abroad on request, and can arrange newspaper notices and order of service sheets for the funeral if you wish. We can arrange traditional funerals, alternative “celebration of life” funerals, green woodland burials, and religious funerals for every faith. Similarly, our wide range of coffins includes traditional wood coffins, alternative custom photo coffins, and eco-friendly bamboo, banana leaf and cardboard caskets. Whatever you need, we will do our best to arrange it. If you are in the Armed Forces, police force, fire and rescue service, or work in the NHS front line, we are pleased to offer a 10% discount on our professional fees.
