G & H Seamer Funeral Directors, established in 1903, are an independently owned and family-run business, providing families in the locale of Sandy and its surrounding villages with sensitive and dignified funeral services. With our extensive history and great family-oriented values, we continue to offer the very best care to the families we serve, conducted with the utmost professional standards. After working alongside the Withey Family for 23 years in their funeral and joinery practice, Alfred Seamer took over the business in February 1903. Using his wealth of experience, Alfred developed the business over many decades, garnering a great reputation for the company that has continued into the present day: a reputation based on trust, professionalism and high standards of care. After passing the mantle to his two sons, George and Harry, the pair registered their funeral directors under the name G & H Seamer shortly after taking on the lead roles. Subsequently, the couple handed it over to their 16 year old brother, Jim Seamer, in 1976. In 2003, the company celebrated its centenary, with Jim’s step-son, Steve, joining the business in 2006. Steve is now a fully fledged partner in G & H Seamer and helps bring the sense of strong family values to every funeral that he arranges and leads.
