Mr Kantaria
I was not happy at being charged this, as the quote changed from the original. I feel that I was charged for doctor's fees twice *** Funeral Director Response: Dear Mr Kantaria I write further to your comments where you stated that you believed we had "charged you twice for doctor's fees". Having reviewed your matter, I unable to understand why you would write this. I can only think you must have misunderstood our invoice. Please note that the law stipulates there must be two doctors' signatures when the deceased is being cremated (the British Medical Association's approved charge for this service is currently £82 per doctor) whilst only one (doctor's signature) is required for a burial. This is why the first line of our invoice (which was sent to Ryan Smith on 25 August 2018 and to whom we spoke on a daily basis in the run-up to the ceremony - and who was very clear on this matter) states £164 for "Doctors' fees for Cremation Certificate - i.e. 2 doctors signature required". Consequently, I am confident that we have not made any errors. As I have tried to contact you with no reply, I should be grateful if you now kindly get in touch should you have any further queries. Best regards Yvonne D McGhie Managing Director ***
