D.J. Protheroe & Sons Funeral Directors is an Independent family run funeral firm, based in Merthyr Tydfil. Established in 1987 by the late Reverend David Jones Protheroe, along with his wife Anne and youngest son Robert, their caring and compassionate staff are available on a 24 hour, 365 days a year basis to help assist you and your family during this most difficult of times. D.J. Protheroe & Sons Funeral Directors have a wide range of facilities to enable us to care for you and your loved one in the most fitting and thoughtful way possible. At our Riverside Funeral Home we have a quiet and peaceful chapel of rest where you can pay your final respects to your loved one in private seclusion, and we can also accommodate funerals for up to 50 people. However, you are not limited to having the funeral there as we can happily arrange funerals in a variety of places depending on your needs and requirements. At D.J Protheroe and Sons Funeral Directors we are ready to welcome you into the Riverside Funeral Home to guide you through the funeral arranging process in comfortable and informal surroundings, or we are more than happy to come out to you and both begin and finalise these arrangements in the comfort of your own home. We deliver our caring service to you in a manner that is always friendly, courteous and professional, and will listen closely and sympathetically to your requests and wishes at all times. Our services include a range of funerals both basic and traditional, and we can also cater for religious funerals of all denominations, non-religious funerals and green or eco-friendly funerals. We can also assist with memorial stones, floral tributes, orders of service, limousines and horse drawn funerals. Should you need us to, we can also arrange a pre-paid funeral plan if you wish to plan ahead.
