A & A Doyle is an independent funeral directors covering the Scottish Borders town of Galashiels and surrounding areas. A family owned and managed company, A & A Doyle is a husband and wife team of Allan and Awdri Doyle. Alan is a Galashiels native, and he takes the job of helping out the community members in their hour of bereavement very seriously. Awdri meanwhile comes from a funeral directing family, and caring for the bereaved is in her blood. At A & A Doyle, we will always endeavour to make you feel welcome and compassionate. Our funeral home is free of the decor you might expect of wooden paneling and net curtains - we have a bright and well-lit interior. As soon as you walk in we will listen as you tell us about your requirements, and about the deceased. Some people know exactly what they would like, and others don't know where to start. While most people in the Scottish Borders tend to go for a traditional funeral service, we can accommodate pretty much any request. Whatever your situation and unique requirements, we will always deliver what you want. Anything should be possible from a funeral, provided that the dignity of and respect towards the deceased are not compromised. We will never rush or pressure you into making a decision. We believe that a funeral is a very important part of the grieving process, and you need to find the right way of saying goodbye. Our funeral home has a chapel of rest so that you can visit the deceased at any time of day and spend as long as you wish. We are more than happy for you to take an active role in washing and dressing the deceased in preparation for the funeral service. Should you wish to hold the service at our funeral home, we have the space to accommodate 25-20 people.
