Hello! There's no hard and fast rule for everyone on this: it really depends on how many organisations you think you'll need to reach out to when you're settling the estate. But most people find that between four and six certified copies is enough, or 10 at the very most. Organisations are usually very good at returning certificates once they're done with them, so you can send out a few at the same time, and keep one in reserve just in case. If possible, it's a good idea to request all the copies when you register the death, as it costs less.
